What we collect

01 Arriving as a guest

Opening the site creates a guest account so the match screen knows who you are between taps. We record a guest identifier, your device and browser type, language and an approximate country from your IP address. Nothing here asks for your real name.

02 Your profile

A display name, a photo and short profile details are all optional. Whatever you add is shown to people who open your profile, and you can change or clear it whenever you like.

03 Random matching

• Which mode you used: Video, Audio or Text.
• When each match started and ended, and whether it ended with Next.
• Picture and sound pass between the two of you live during Video and Audio matches; Text matches carry only typed messages.
• Free match balance, Reward Center claims and coins spent on matches.

04 Messages and translation

Messages you send from profiles or after a match are stored so both of you can scroll back through the conversation. When automatic translation is on, the text of a message is passed to a translation provider so it can be shown in the reader’s language.

05 Follows, blocks and reports

We keep the list of people you follow and the people you block, so your lists stay the same next time you visit. A report stores who reported whom, when, the reason picked and anything written in it, so it can be looked into.

06 Live streams and clips

• Which streams you open and for how long, so the Live tab works and counts are correct.
• Comments you write in a stream, which other viewers in that stream can see.
• Gifts you send in a stream, with the coin amount and time.
• Clips you watch or like in the short video feed.

07 Coins and VIP

Each purchase is stored with the item, the amount, the time and the payment partner’s reference. This is what lets us check a top-up that did not arrive. Full card numbers stay with the payment partner.

08 Mode and language settings

The mode you pick and the language you use are remembered so the next match starts the way you like. This is stored with your guest account and changes whenever you change the setting.

09 Device and connection details

To keep picture and sound working, the site looks at technical details such as your browser version, connection quality and whether camera and microphone permission was granted. These details help us fix problems like frozen video or missing sound, and they are not visible to other users.

10 Visible to the people you meet

Other people on MeetCamChat can see your display name, profile photo and profile details if you added them, the comments you write in streams, and, during a match, whatever your camera and microphone pick up. They cannot see your email address or your payment details.

11 Analytics

We use basic analytics to count visits, see which pages people use and understand where things go wrong. These counts are looked at in aggregate, to decide what to fix and improve, not to follow individual conversations.

12 Reports and enforcement

When someone is reported, we may look at the report, the accounts involved and related activity such as matches and messages, so we can decide whether rules were broken. Information connected to a report is kept for as long as it is needed to deal with it.

13 Where information is stored

Our providers keep information on servers that may be in countries other than yours. Wherever it is kept, it is handled under this page and the Privacy Policy. MeetCamChat is not meant for anyone under 18; if we find an account belongs to someone younger, we close it and delete the information connected to it.

14 Support emails

When you write to us, we keep your email address, the message and any screenshots you attach, so we can follow the thread and refer back to it if the problem comes back.

15 Removing your information

• Profile details: edit or clear them yourself at any time.
• Camera and microphone: switch permission off in your browser settings, or use Text mode.
• Your whole account: email [email protected] from a device you use MeetCamChat on and ask for deletion. Some records, such as purchase history required for tax, are kept for the period the law requires and then removed.

16 A few things worth knowing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not ask for documents to start a chat. The people you meet see only what you choose to show them on camera, in your profile and in your messages, so it is worth keeping your surname, address and workplace out of all three.
